I hope everyone had a nice little semester break and is ready to get a fresh start now. This semester in art will be similar to the last one in the way it is organized, however the material we cover will all be different. Students will still have three responsibilities a week; a handout, a class art project, and a sketchbook assignment. Class art projects are to be kept in your portfolio, handouts are to be turned in when they are ready to be graded, and sketchbooks are to be turned in on Thursdays to be graded. If you come to class prepared, pay attention during the lessons, and use your class time well, you'll do GREAT!
This semester you are responsible for bringing some of your own materials. Please get them by next Monday! (You can probably find all this stuff at Walmart - I think the arts and crafts section has little drawing sets that have a variety pencils, just be sure they're graphite and not charcoal. Studio Supply on Franklin St. is also a good store, but might be more expensive)
Materials List:
1. Graphite Pencils - get a variety - at least 3 of the following (6H, 4H, 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
2. Sketchbook - Any size is fine but it must have either spiral or bound pages, don't get a drawing pad that has pages that come out easily)
3. Markers
4. Colored Pencils
