During this second week of September the students will finish making their sketchbooks and begin the chapter on SHAPE. We will compare works of art that are made with organic shapes to those made with geometric shapes. We will discuss several artists, like Matisse and Modigliani whose styles were defined by their unique use of shape. Then the students will have a chance to make some abstract art of their own.
