This week we will focus on the element of form. The students will be drawing from a still life of geometric forms. Their job will be to work on creating the illusion of volume by learning how to identify the five components of FORM: 1)highlights, 2)halftones, 3)core shadows, 4)reflected light and 5) cast shadows. They will also have a worksheet to complete that has some drawing exercises on it, including drawing from an organic form (like a leaf or rock). I will be bringing some items in for them to work from but if they have something specific that they would like to bring that would be great. There will also be one sketchbook assignment that they may do either in class or at home. If they plan to do it in class they will need to bring a piece of fruit.
