Victorian Houses

Victorian style houses can be beautiful with all of their ornate trimwork and castle-like features, but they are also generally the style of architecture used to depict the classic "haunted house".  In this lesson we will look at pictures of victorian style houses, practice drawing the typical features of that era, and learn some of the architectural terminology.  Once the students have gained a familiarity with this style of house, they will begin making a picture of one.  It can be beautiful or it can be spooky, so long as it's Victorian.

This Watercolor painting was done by an artist known for his scary house images. His name is Lewis Lehrman.
